Jennifer M. Jenkins LCPC, LPC, CCTP, C-DBT

CLINICAL DIRECTOR

Jennifer is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and Certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy. She is licensed in Maryland, Texas and Virginia and serves as a Board-Approved Clinical Supervisor in Maryland and Virginia. Jennifer earned her master’s degree in counseling psychology from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana.

Jennifer believes that everyone has a purpose. She understands both personally and professionally how intimidating it can be to seek professional help, but also how life-changing therapy can be. Taking the first step requires courage, and she is committed to working alongside her clients to help them meet their goals and build fulfilling, meaningful lives.


With extensive experience and a passion for guiding clients toward self-discovery, Jennifer provides empathetic, culturally sensitive counseling. She specializes in working with individuals aged 18 and older, as well as couples and families. Her goal is to empower people to overcome challenges such as chronic stress, anxiety, addiction, depression, grief, and trauma.


Jennifer tailors her therapeutic approach to each client’s needs, incorporating evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Therapy. She views each session as an opportunity to learn from the past, find strength in the present, and create a hopeful future.


Beyond her professional role, Jennifer is a dedicated wife and mother who cherishes time with family and friends. She enjoys exploring new cuisines, watching movies, and traveling in her free time.

Valecia Canery, LCPC, LPC, CCTP 

THERAPIST

Valecia is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. She is licensed in Maryland and Virginia. She earned her master’s degree in counseling psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Valecia believes in meeting clients where they are while providing trauma-informed, mental health, addictions, and dual diagnosis therapy. Treatment occurs in a judgement free, person-centered space. She utilizes an integrative collaborative approach with modalities such as CBT, DBT, and multiple relaxation techniques to assist clients in achieving their overall optimum level of mental well- being.


Valecia is a 4-year USAF veteran, and a lifetime military family member. She is a single mother and believes in the healing power of her fur kids. She welcomes a diverse range of individuals aged 18 and up.

Shermale, Motley, MA, CR

Resident in Counseling

Supervised by Jennifer M. Jenkins, LCPC, LPC, CCTP

Shermale is a Licensed Resident in Counseling and a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) with over 24 years of experience in vocational rehabilitation counseling. She provides virtual therapy to teens and adults, supporting individuals as they navigate life transitions, career challenges, and personal growth.


Shermale understands that seeking support can feel overwhelming but also recognizes how transformative the therapeutic process can be. She is committed to creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered. Her goal is to help individuals build insight, develop practical coping strategies, and move toward meaningful, lasting change.


With extensive experience in disabilities, rehabilitation, and counseling, Shermale provides a collaborative, client-centered approach to care. She works with teens and adults facing challenges related to life transitions, career concerns, stress, and emotional well-being. She tailors her therapeutic approach to meet each client’s unique needs, goals, and pace. Her style is warm, supportive, and practical—balancing empathy and validation with gentle challenges that foster growth. Sessions may include open conversation, skill-building, and exploration of patterns in thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, along with coping strategies and reflection exercises to support progress.


Outside of her professional role, Shermale is a devoted wife and mother who values personal growth, meaningful connections, and maintaining balance in daily life.
